Safety and Sustainability

Our commitment to safety

At Portofino, we take the health and safety of our customers extremely seriously, which is why all of our products are Certified CARB2 Compliant (Less than 0.05 PPM). This means that our products’ formaldehyde emissions have been tested by the State of California to ensure that your home’s air is healthy to breathe and free from carcinogens. We are certified under CARB’s Airborne Toxic Control Measure, which is the strictest air quality measure. We want our customers to be confident that our products meet or exceed all state and federal guidelines. Customer safety has always been our #1 priority, which is why we provide low VOC (less than 275 g/l), Non-Toxic Flooring to keep our customers and their families safe from harmful emissions.

We also have random testing done by a third party testing agency to ensure our floors continue to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

FloorScore Certified

A FloorScore certification means our floors comply with the strictest regulations for good indoor air quality inside a home. We maintain this independent, non-required certification across engineered wood and luxury vinyl offerings.

Lacey Act Compliant

As the first federal law to protect wildlife, the Lacey Act has been adopted by the US Department of Agriculture as a standard for ensuring the safety of our nation’s plants and animals. Portofino complies with the strict guidelines of the Lacey Act in order to give our customers total peace of mind about the safety and quality of their flooring.
